No One Will Save You (2023)
This movie is TENSE. The ending leaves a little to be desired, but once the tension starts, it refuses to relent.
The cinematography of this film is absolutely fantastic, it paces perfectly and the direction of the actors shows off their strengths as the film is predominately bottlenecked into a single set with some of the most minimal dialogue on display in modern film.
In this captivating sci-fi psychological thriller, a young woman who’s been alienated from her community finds herself in an action-packed face-off with a host of extraterrestrial beings who threaten her future while forcing her to deal with her past.

Spiral (2021)
I gave up on the SAW franchise after the third film. However, this one enticed me with not only its cast, but also its promise of something different, and in that regard it did not disappoint.
The focus certainly seems to be on the narrative and the story telling rather than the production of torture p*rn scenes.
Yes, the ending is a tad predictable, but overall, I think this is an enjoyable film to keep on your spooky season list.
Working in the shadow of his father, Detective Ezekiel “Zeke” Banks and his rookie partner take charge of an investigation into grisly murders that are eerily reminiscent of the city’s gruesome past. Unwittingly entrapped in a deepening mystery, Zeke finds himself at the center of the killer’s morbid game.

Guillermo Del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities – The Autopsy & Lot 36 (2022)
If you have yet to check out this horror anthology series on Netflix, I highly recommend adding it to your list ASAP. Now, not every episode is a home run (i.e. ep 8 The Murmuring).
However, most of them are pretty darn good, but the two that I highly recommend are The Autopsy (ep. 3) and Lot 36 (ep.1). I have watched both of these at least three times and I cannot recommend them enough.
The Autopsy
A seasoned sheriff investigates a dead body in the woods and calls on an old pal, a medical examiner, to help piece together a series of chilling events.

Lot 36
To pay off his debt, a man secures a storage unit filled with mysterious possessions to sell, but soon finds himself in a deadly and desperate situation.

Honorable Mention: Dave Made a Maze (2017)
This is without a doubt a cult classic in the making. It is an absurdly irreverent film with humorous takes on many elements of the horror genre.
As Dave’s friends journey into the cardboard maze that magically swells beyond the confines of its physical barriers, the tension builds gradually amidst laughs and heartwarming moments delivered by a surprisingly capable cast.
An unaccomplished and frustrated artist builds a cardboard box fort in his living room and winds up trapped with a gang of oddball explorers in a fantasy world of his own creation, threatened by booby traps and a bloodthirsty Minotaur.
