End of Watch Featured Image for AJ Humphreys Review

Definitely my favorite in the trilogy. It brings back the idea of a creepy and disturbing villain from the first two novels, but it adds a paranormal element true to King novels but lacking from EoW's predecessors. Not going to lie, I shed a tear when it was all said and done. I'm sad it's over, but grateful to have been a part of the journey.

Review | Finders Keepers

Finders Keepers Hardcover snippet

Finders Keepers is a great novel but it's a HUGE departure from Mr. Mercedes. Regardless, I thoroughly enjoyed this one front to back!

Review | The Girl That Vanished

The Girl That Vanished by A.J. Rivers Cover

AJ Rivers second Emma Griffin novel does a complete 180 from the first, focusing on one storyline rather than a multitude. But does this help the story in the end?

REVIEW | “IT’S JUST THE BEGINNING”

Cover Art for The Girl in Cabin 13

I see a bright future for Emma as a lone-wolf, loose-cannon agent in the next novel and beyond. However, I found it hard to like her due to poor decision making throughout the novel, but she gets her act together, which is the point, right? That said, much like Emma, this first story is a little all over the place.

REVIEW | “READER DISCRETION ADVISED”

This really is a chimera of a novel that I absolutely loved. Coben gives Myron a voice that is certainly tropey, but it’s fun and playful. There’s not a lot of characters like him and it gets us readers through this incredibly dark story.

(Flash) REVIEW | “DETECTIVE BLUES”

Mr. Mercedes Cover

I have to say the best thing about this novel is the character development. I think that's a staple of most King novels. He does well to get inside his characters' minds as they relate to the world he's built around them.

REVIEW | “BOUND & BURDENED”

What first drew me to this book was definitely the cover. Its visceral colors on the orange spectrum, and muted details, invoked horror and mystery before I ever had a chance to crack the spine.
