I just can't like this book. It did too much with so little. The prose drones on, the twists are too far fetched and none of the characters seem genuine (in the worst possible way). I recommend staying away from this one.
Darren's mental breakdown has taken him all the way from New York City to backwoods Florida. But when he runs into a woman who believes him to be someone else, Darren's no longer trying to find himself, instead he NEEDS to find a way to escape.
Audrey is on the move and at every stop, a body seems to fall.
Detective Marty Lang has a dark past that may hinder his investigation into a rising body count.
But the biggest question for both characters will be - who is the Grey Man?
The Island is isolationist horror at it's finest. Think "The Troop" meets "Knives Out". Characters are dropping like flies and it may not be until the very end that we know who is responsible.
